Reflecting on Last Saturday: Growth Through the Storm
Last Saturday, our journey took a challenging turn as we faced Guardians Panda. It wasn’t the result we worked for, nor the performance we are used to delivering. We lost 3-0, and to be honest, it wasn’t our best moment on the court.
Every athlete knows that some days, for reasons hard to pin down, the focus just isn’t where it needs to be. We weren’t as sharp or as “locked in” as we usually are. Volleyball is a game of momentum and mental strength, and unfortunately, last weekend, we struggled to find our rhythm against a very disciplined opponent.
But one result does not define a season.
Until this match, the Vixens were on an incredible run. It’s important to remember: this was only our first loss of the season. While the scoreboard hurt, it serves as a powerful reminder of why we play: to learn, to adapt, and to come back stronger.
Our “garra” (our grit) remains untouched. We are a committed, competitive team, and a setback like this only fuels our fire to get back to training and fix the gaps. We know our potential, we know our level, and we know that the road to the top of the Irish League D2 isn’t always a straight line.
To our supporters: thank you for being there even when the sets don’t go our way. We are already looking forward to the next whistle, with more focus, more heart, and the same Vixen spirit that brought us all the way here.
We go again. Let’s go, Vixens! 🏐🦊
